What you are going to learn

Our Introductory Course

Over the course of ten weeks, your child will enjoy reading and discussing ten stories.

We will use each story to develop reading, writing and critical thinking skills.

Your child will understand how the parts of speech work to build sentences.

Best of all, each week your child will write his/her own story, and read it out loud in our small group!

Self-study activities blend easily with live online small-class tutoring.
Throughout this course, children will discover the basics of English Literacy and develop the foundation skills for the Secondary Entrance Assessment (SEA) in Trinidad and Tobago.

Your child will:
  • Read and listen to stories from around the world
  • Imagine the story through drawing
  • Learn about syllables and use this knowledge to help with spelling
  • Practise using new vocabulary
  • Improve reading comprehension
  • Learn when and how to end sentences
  • Learn to use quotation marks
  • Learn about nouns, verbs, adjectives, conjunctions, pronouns, prepositions and interjections
  • Learn to find the subject of the verb
  • Write simple narratives
  • Develop poise and confidence through reading out loud
